Resident Assisted In Arrest By Providing Photograph
SAN DIEGO — An alleged illegal immigrant suspected in a spree of Peeping Tom incidents and sex assaults in Pacific Beach was under arrest Friday.
Eduardo Castillo Herrarte, 33, surrendered to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents about 4 p.m. Thursday near his Lemon Grove home, according to San Diego police.
The arrest came a week after authorities released a composite rendering of the perpetrator in the series of at least 10 crimes in the coastal community south of La Jolla.

Just last week we heard about a sexual prowler in Pacific Beach who’s been entering homes and assaulting women. The News 8 Crimetracker found out that sexual assaults are on the rise in P.B., and we wanted to know what’s being done about it.

A pedestrian was seriously injured crossing Ingraham Street at Grand Avenue, Sunday, Feb. 18, at 1:43 a.m. when walked into a moving vehicle. The pedestrian was thrown into the road and suffered a head injury. Paramedics arrived and transported the man to a hospital for treatment. Police reports said the man was intoxicated. The driver was not injured.

Phillip Troy Relos, 23, of San Diego, is awaiting a March 20 preliminary hearing after being charged with assault with a deadly weapon in the Jan. 21 shooting of a man in the 4500 block of Dawes Street in Pacific Beach. Relos has pleaded not guilty to shooting David Fitzpatrick, 24, in the abdomen with a pistol. Fitzpatrick was taken to a hospital and is recovering.
